The spirit of senior adventure travel does not end with the setting sun. Our nights are spent in lodges, country homes, guest houses, rustic cabins, basic tents, deluxe tents and, yes, even hotels.
Meals and snacks are all provided (except as otherwise noted in each itinerary) and will consist of local cuisine. Every effort will be made to accommodate special diets.
Our guides, either native to or thoroughly familiar with the region in which they are serving, are well trained and experienced in the particular sport or activity that they are leading. They are all very patient and adept at explaining particular sports and techniques to first timers and those who have minimum experience in a given sport or activity. Most importantly, our guides are ever conscious of the safety of our participants.
Unless otherwise noted, no particular skill level is required. On location instruction will be provided for all activities. All participants should be in good health, in reasonably good physical condition and have the stamina to withstand several hours a day of moderate to high energy exertion. Elder Expeditions suggests that all participants engage in a physical conditioning and fitness program as part of trip preparation. Our fitness partner, Fit for TripsŪ, provides custom designed fitness programs designed especially for the activities of each of our ELDER EXPEDITIONS vacations.
Elder Expeditions chooses sporting activities that are designed to be fun, usually exhilarating, sometimes challenging, but which do NOT qualify as extreme sports.
